My name is Jaquelin Soledad Villalpando, known as Soledad. Turning 24 this August and I am honored to be featured on Roots to Realms. I was born and raised in California, where the inspiration to create is abundant. I've been exploring my creative nature for as long as I could pick up a crayon. I am a multi faceted artist, from writing poetry, to photography, fine painting, and drawing with multiple mediums like digital, graphite, pastels, and pursuing mural painting. I create original pieces and also freelance commissions upon requests. My art is created with raw emotion and I hope to provide a unique human experience through your own visual connection.

Isis is the heart and hands behind Electra Roots. Her creative journey took off in 2019 when she started her first loc journey, caring for her locs herself and sharing her experiences on Instagram and YouTube. This led to a growing online community and connections with amazing people worldwide.

By 2023, during her second loc journey, Isis had embraced a plant-based lifestyle and discovered a deep admiration for mushrooms. This inspired her to name her shop Electra Roots, reflecting her passion for nature’s technology and the electric energies of our planet Earth. She started with polymer clay, crafting mushroom-shaped hair charms and earrings, but soon felt a desire to create something more tailored for the loc community.

In 2024, Isis discovered bead weaving and began designing jewels to fit various loc sizes. Grateful for her loc journey, the community she has connected with, and the skills she has developed, Isis is passionate about sharing her handmade creations with the world.

Kelly Moon is a multi-dimensional artist and crafter based in the Caribbean island, Antigua. Her creations are Rooted in Nature, Inspired by Africa, Made in Wadadli and consists of block printed and lino print apparel, art prints, accessories, stationery but the best seller is honestly her Calabash bags (handmade eco-luxurious bags made from dried Calabash fruit). Kelly Moon has been crafting calabash bags for 3 years now and It's truly a passion and he(art)works for her.
