Sage Glycerite

$14.00

2 ounce organic sage glycerite

Sage (Salvia officinalis)

HOW IT WORKS

The common garden sage has been acknowledged and utilized for culinary and herbal purposes for centuries. A low-growing evergreen shrub, sage is popular in nearly every European cuisine and is used in flavoring aromatic dishes. In the Middle Ages, Martin Luther was reported to have queried “Why should a man die when sage grows in his garden?”. This sentiment is reflected in the botanical name of this herb salvia, which is derived from Latin meaning “to heal”.

Sage has an abundance of volatile oils that provide incredible power to the aromatics of this herb, adding to its uplifting qualities. Salvia officinalis has an affinity for the digestive and respiratory systems and is often employed as an expectorant and diaphoretic.

Our sage extract is made with fresh, organic plant material that is macerated with in small batches at our extract facility to ensure quality and performance. Sage tincture is highly aromatic and can be taken alone or in water or juice. This extract pairs well with rosemary extract, fennel extract, or thyme extract, among others. Sage tincture can be added to a cup of echinacea & elder tea for an extra boost.

HOW TO USE IT

Take 10-15 drops twice a day with water. Needs to be taken consistently to receive the full benefits of it.

SHELF LIFE

Your tincture will last 3 years from date of ordering. Technically tinctures can last up to 6 years, but we suggest taking it within 3 years of purchase to ensure its potency.

Please dose responsibly and store away from direct heat & light for maximum potency & shelf-life.

WHY GLYCERIN

Alcohol tinctures are often too harsh on the body (causing burning sensations) and I personally find the taste too strong. I started extracting herbs using organic glycerin as the menstrum, and the result was great! Vegetable glycerin has a sweet taste so you can taste each herb's flavour easily. Alcohol free tinctures are easier on the liver, taste better, and are easier to take consistently!
